{"id":7254,"date":"2024-03-20T16:59:15","date_gmt":"2024-03-20T16:59:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nivettoday.com\/?p=7254"},"modified":"2024-03-20T16:59:15","modified_gmt":"2024-03-20T16:59:15","slug":"one-medicine-theme-for-beva-congress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nivettoday.com\/one-medicine-theme-for-beva-congress\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;One Medicine&#8217; theme for BEVA Congress"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"sub-title-primary\"><\/h2> <p>BEVA has announced that the theme for this years Congress, which runs from 11th-14th September 2024 at the ACC in Liverpool, will be &#8216;One Medicine&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The full BEVA\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bevacongress.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Congress programme is now\u00a0live<\/a>\u00a0and super early bird tickets are available from 4th March, saving member delegates up to \u00a3200.<\/p>\n<p>The one medicine thread will run through the medicine and orthopaedics and sports medicine streams as well as feature in the Peter Rossdale Plenary Lecture.<\/p>\n<p>BEVA President Roger Smith said: \u201cThere is much to learn from the human side as well as from what we do as vets. We have invited five human medical experts to make some comparative links with human medicine in their presentations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Bringing a different angle in this way will help predict what the future holds and advance what we do in the equine veterinary sphere.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The full programme includes more than 90 hours of live and on-demand CPD covering almost every aspect of equine medicine, surgery and practice.<\/p>\n<p>The first day will commence with an opening address from Olympic gold medallist Sally Gunnell during which she will share her thoughts on maximising performance.<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>John Hickman Memorial Lecture\u00a0Dean Richardson, Professor of Equine Surgery, University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and Chief, Large Animal Surgery, University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, will be flying in from the US to share his considerable knowledge of equine fracture management.<\/li>\n<li>Peter Rossdale Memorial Lecture\u00a0will see Professor Andy Carr, a research-active orthopaedic surgeon in human medicine at Oxford University, discussing the evidence-base for the treatment of tendinopathy.<\/li>\n<li>An expanded stream for veterinary nurses\u00a0will include a critical care workshop, practicals on bandaging, casting and suturing and a session on neurodiversity in practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Individual super early bird BEVA members prices are \u00a3524 for vets and \u00a3144 for vet nurses for all three days (with concessionary available for those in their first three years of graduation or earning less than \u00a325,000).<\/p>\n<p>Day tickets and practice passes are also available.<\/p>\n<p>Super early bird ends on Wednesday 29 May 2024.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bevacongress.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.bevacongress.org<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BEVA has announced that the theme for this years Congress, which runs from 11th-14th September 2024 at the ACC in Liverpool, will be &#8216;One Medicine&#8217;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":37,"featured_media":7255,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[68],"tags":[142,96,134,126,155,135,83],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>&#039;One Medicine&#039;
