Obituary – Pat O’Callaghan

‘Like a second dad to us’ — Tributes pour in for well-known Cork businessman

NIVT was saddened to hear of the passing of Pat O’Callaghan on 30th September.

An Interchem Company Statement on Linked In read:

“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our treasured co-owner, colleague and friend, Pat O’Callaghan.

“Pat passed away suddenly on 30th September, in his home.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Pat’s wife Thérèse, children Michael, Jane and Liam, extended family and friends during this difficult time.

“The Interchem family is numb with grief and we will miss Pat more than words can express. Pat was a father figure to us all and a pillar of the Irish veterinary industry. He was deeply devoted to his family, his work colleagues and the GAA.”

Mr O’Callaghan died unexpectedly but peacefully, in the company of his heartbroken wife and children. He was the adored husband of Thérèse (née Kingston) and proud loving father of Michael, Jane, and Liam. Pat was a much-loved uncle by his nieces and nephews.

Pat’s loss will be felt far and wide, by his work colleagues in Interchem, by his huge circle of friends countrywide, by the GAA, and by his cherished neighbours.

Pat O’Callaghan was a director with Dublin-based company Interchem, a well-recognised brand in the animal health and agriculture sector.

He has been described as a ‘warrior’ and a ‘true gentleman’.

Mr O’Callaghan’s funeral took place on Friday 4th October.
