Coleraine nurse up for 2022 Petplan Award

A Northern Ireland veterinary nurse  has been shortlisted for the Vet Nurse of the Year gong in the prestigious Petplan Awards 2022.

Barbara Millar, who works at Millburn Veterinary Practice,  in Coleraine has been shortlisted for esteemed Vet Nurse of the Year.

The awards recognise the nation’s most outstanding veterinary professionals, who have been nominated by their colleagues and pet owners for their continued hard work and dedication to keeping pets healthy.

Speaking about her nomination, Barbara said: “Firstly, I would love to say how completely overwhelmed I am to be selected as a finalist for the Petplan Awards 2022.

“I would also love to give a massive thank you to all the clients, friends and work colleagues that nominated me. I am truly excited and thankful.”

Now celebrating its 23rd year, the awards continue to go from strength to strength, with Petplan receiving over 22,000 nominations this year.

The ceremony will be taking place face-to-face for the first time since 2019, at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester on March 24.

Isabella von Mesterhazy, head of marketing at Petplan said: “The judges had a very tough time picking the finalists in each category this year. As always, the quality of entries has been incredibly high and we’re delighted to have received so many nominations from the veterinary community and indeed pet owners themselves.

“The awards recognise outstanding individuals and teams who go above and beyond to care for the nation’s pets. The Petplan Veterinary Awards provide an opportunity to say thank you for the exceptional work carried out by members of the veterinary profession and are particularly special this year now that we are able host the ceremony in-person once again.”
