Improve International Thanks Vets via Festive Fundraiser
Veterinary CPD specialist Improve International has created a video to thank veterinary professionals from around the world for their hard work during the unprecedented challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also donating £1,350 to Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), a not-for-profit organisation which sends volunteer emergency veterinary teams to countries where they are needed; trains veterinarians in emerging countries to improve standards of care and ships medication and aid to regions in short supply.
COVID-19 Changes
The aim of the video is to communicate how COVID-19 has changed the way pet owners, companion animals and veterinary professionals have interacted with each other this year and the effect of this on the animals, owners and veterinary teams. As part of its #improvesaysthanks campaign, Improve International is asking veterinary professionals to share the video and will increase its donation to WVS to £1,800 should it achieve more than 1,000 shares.
Expert care
Dr Heber Alves, Improve International’s CEO, said: “This year, veterinary teams right around the world have gone the extra mile to help ensure that companion animals have continued to receive the expert care they need. Even without a global pandemic, our profession can be challenging, so this year has added an extra dimension of difficulty. From what we hear from our delegates, however, despite the added pressures caused by COVID-19, the dedication of many veterinary teams around the world has continued to shine through.
