Garvagh vet honoured at London Vet Show

Dr Rachel Davidson MRCVS from Garvagh Veterinary Clinic was the proud recipient of the London Vet Show 30 under 30 class of 2023 award. This is given to 30 veterinary professionals under the age of 30 who have shown exceptional dedication and commitment to their work and are recognised as future leaders.

Rachel has worked at Garvagh vets since graduating from Glasgow University in 2020 and has been treating both farm and companion animals with confidence and enthusiasm and is an inspiration to fellow team members.

She was nominated by a colleague who said her attitude to work was an employers dream and she is a great example to students considering a career in mixed practice. Farm work is still a large part of veterinary work in N. Ireland and currently there is a shortage of veterinary professionals prepared to take up the challenges of working in  independent mixed  practices in rural areas. We need more young vets like Rachel who are happy to deal with all creatures great and small.

Rachel was presented her award by one of her childhood hero’s the Yorkshire Vet Dr Peter Wright who was also one of the judges.
