Deadline looms for BVA Young Vet Award

Entrants have until September 1 to put themselves forward or nominate colleagues for the prestigious BVA Young Vet Of The Year Award

The prize, supported by Zoetis, recognises early career vets who making a valuable contribution across the profession, animal welfare, and the wider community.

The 2021 winner will receive £1,000 and a mentoring opportunity with Zoetis, and all three shortlisted finalists get a free ticket to the London Vet Show.

This year’s judging panel comprises Justine Shotton, BVA Junior Vice President, Kate Richards, President of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), Edwina Gildea, Companion Animal Lead for Zoetis in the UK, and Fabian Rivers, the 2020 award winner.

Last year, small animal and exotics vet Fabian caught the judge’s eye with his ongoing proactive contributions to the veterinary profession and his passion for raising awareness around exotic animal care.

Nominees should be vets who have been qualified for eight years or fewer, BVA members, and on the RCVS register.
