MSD gives early Christmas gift to Irish Guide Dogs

The puppies of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind have been given an early Christmas present this year, with MSD Animal Health presenting them with ‘the gift of health.’

The annual donation from the leading animal health specialists will provide around 240 dogs in the Volunteer Breeding Programme, Volunteer Puppy Raising Programme and the Training Programme with vaccines from the Nobivac range as well as Bravecto flea and tick treatment for the year ahead.

Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is Ireland’s national charity dedicated to helping people who are visually impaired and families of children with autism to achieve improved mobility and independence.

Bosco Cowley, Manager of MSD Animal Health’s Companion Animals Division, said: “We are delighted to be announcing this partnership with Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and to be collaborating with their own veterinary practitioners in supporting the health and wellbeing of these very special dogs. The first years of life are crucial in preparing them their future role, and a full bill of health is essential in supporting them during their training and development period.  The MSD vaccination programme will help to ensure that common diseases and parasites are controlled, and the dogs can thrive and flourish.”
