NI hydro rehab centre shares Daisy’s recovery story

Aqua Dog Hydrotherapy Rehabilitation and Recreational Centre has shared the story of one its patient’s remarkable recovery.

Just a few weeks ago beautiful Rottweiler Daisy tore the cruciate ligament in her left hind leg and also damaged her meniscus.

Given her age, breed, and a history of spinal issues last year, surgery was the obvious answer, with Northern Ireland Veterinary Specialists doing the needful at the start of the month.

Her TPLO (Tibial Plateu Levelling Osteotomy) surgery went well and Northern Ireland’s largest canine hydrotherapy rehabilitation centre has now described her progress thus far as “brilliant”.

Posting on their Facebook page, they wrote: “She is weight bearing well on the limb and so far following her physio programme quite well.

“We had been dreading this moment with Daisy where a cruciate would go due to her complex spinal issues and her already abnormal gait however as always with Daisy, she has proved to be incredibly resilient.
“We hope to share her progress with yous over the coming weeks and months.

“A big and huge thank you to the incredible team at Advance Veterinary Care who have always been super helpful with Daisy’s case and for the team at Northern Ireland Veterinary Specialists who performed her surgery!”
